Welcome to Lorane Rural Fire Protection District!
Supporting Fire and EMS Services through Community Involvement

The Lorane Volunteer Fire and Emergency Group was founded in June, 1973. Up until that time, the only fire protection for Lorane was from Western Lane Forest Patrol Association which was funded and trained to fight wildland fires only.  The Forest Patrol kept one small fire truck in the Lorane area in the summer, but most fire fighting equipment was 20 miles away in Veneta.

Today the Lorane Rural Fire Protection District is a modern fire department serving the community surrounding the small town of Lorane.

Located at 80287 Old Lorane Road, the fire hall was originally built entirely from volunteer help and donated materials. Local lumber companies donated the materials and cash.  The equipment was donated by Western Lane District and Weyerhaeuser Co.

The fire station has since been expanded through the support of the patrons of the Lorane Fire Department and it now houses modern structural fire engines, tender, as well well as medical response equipment and wildland fire trucks.
